Marielle Schram is a Dutch artist living and working in England.

“When I pick up a leaf or a handful of berries I can be struck by the shape, the colour or simply by the way it just got caught by the wind while it whirled down from the tree”.

The style of painting is very distinctive, quietness being the main characteristic. Sometimes paper finds its way on the canvas and adds texture to the oil painting.

“Drawing for me is much more an investigation, a way of searching what the theme really means to me, which often results in more abstract images”.

The drawings are made with a wide array of materials: pencil, crayon, pastel, ink, paint and paper collage.

Marielle exhibits her paintings in galleries throughout the UK, as well as at art fairs in the UK and abroad. Her studio is a beautiful space in woodland surroundings, the perfect setting for her work.
